This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project, taking responsibility for managing and coordinating the building services design process, ensuring the timely completion of design information by external consultants and supporting the project team through to delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage the MEP design process from detailed design through to project completion. Coordinate and oversee external MEP design consultants. Review and manage design deliverables to ensure programme milestones are achieved. Liaise with project managers, commercial teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client. Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues. Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and project specifications. Monitor design progress and report on key milestones and risks. Support the construction team with technical queries throughout the build. Maintain design quality, document control and project compliance. Requirements Proven experience as an MEP Design Manager or Building Services Design Manager. Strong background in mechanical and electrical building services. Experience managing external consultants and multidisciplinary design teams. Good understanding of construction methodology and project delivery. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. We are working with a Tier 1 contractor based near Reading to recruit a new Building Services/Technical Manager for the business. The company are a national brand with an excellent reputation in their chosen marketplace and have excellent long term relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider supply chain and have a forward thinking approach to staff engagement and there are opportunities to grow and develop your career with them. They are flexible on how and where you to choose to work and operate a hybrid model where you can work in the office, hotdesk at the nearest project, work on live sites or work from home if needed and take a grown up and pragmatic approach to how you work and look to find the best way for you to achieve your goals alongside a work/life balance.
