Job Description

Artisan Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Fire & Security Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of fire alarm, life safety and electronic security projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Project Manager with strong industry knowledge and commercial awareness to take ownership of projects from initial planning through to installation, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing multiple fire and security projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Working closely with clients, contractors, engineers, suppliers and internal teams, you will coordinate all aspects of project delivery, from resource planning and procurement through to financial control and completion.

Responsibilities will include managing project programmes, monitoring costs and profitability, overseeing subcontractors and engineering teams, managing variations and contractual requirements, and ensuring all works comply with relevant industry standards and health and safety regulations. You will also coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging and client handover, maintaining accurate project documentation throughout.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience managing fire alarm and/or electronic security projects within the construction or building services sector. You will have a good understanding of relevant systems and standards, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Commercial awareness is essential, including experience with budgets, cost control, variations and project forecasting. You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, coordinating engineers and subcontractors, identifying potential risks and resolving issues proactively. A full UK driving licence is required.

Project management qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2, relevant FIA or BAFE experience, health and safety qualifications, and knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT or NEC would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to take ownership of a varied portfolio of fire and security projects, working with a range of stakeholders and playing a key role in successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be technically knowledgeable, commercially minded and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
