Assistant MEP Project Manager Hotel Conversion North West London
We are working with an established main contractor delivering a major hotel conversion project in North West London. The scheme involves transforming an existing office building into a large hotel with extensive guest accommodation and shared amenity spaces, requiring careful coordination of mechanical and electrical services within the existing structure. They are looking for an Assistant MEP Project Manager to join the site team and support the delivery of the building services package from design coordination and procurement through to installation and completion.
Responsibilities
Support the coordination and development of mechanical and electrical designs, reviewing technical drawings, specifications and subcontractor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements. Work closely with design consultants, specialist subcontractors and the wider site team to resolve technical queries, identify clashes and ensure designs are coordinated ahead of installation.
Assist with the procurement of MEP equipment, materials and specialist subcontract packages, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and aligned with the project programme. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to monitor orders, deliveries and technical submissions, helping ensure materials and resources are available when required on site.
Support the planning, coordination and monitoring of MEP installation works, working with subcontractors and other construction teams to maintain progress against the project programme. Help identify potential delays, coordinate access and sequencing, and ensure building services activities are integrated with the wider construction works.
Monitor the quality of MEP installations, assisting with site inspections, quality checks and the resolution of defects or non-conformances. Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and relevant standards, maintaining accurate records and supporting the timely close-out of quality issues.
Promote safe working practices across MEP activities, supporting site inspections, risk assessments, method statements and compliance with project health and safety requirements. Assist with the administration of subcontract packages, maintaining project documentation, tracking technical and contractual submissions, and helping resolve issues affecting delivery.
