Senior Planning Officer (Development Management)

£45-50 per hour (Umbrella)
Initial 6 Month Contract

The Role

This is a delivery-focused role. We are looking for someone who can join the team and make an immediate impact with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of a significant caseload and progress applications through to determination at pace whilst maintaining robust decision making.
The caseload is likely to include:
Householder applications
Minor applications
Rural and agricultural applications
Small to medium-scale residential developments
Applications generally ranging up to approximately 30 dwellings
Pre-application enquiries
Appeals and associated casework where required
Committee reports where required

We are looking for someone who:

Is comfortable managing a high caseload
Can work independently with minimal support
Has strong report-writing skills
Can make clear, balanced planning recommendations
Has recent experience determining applications rather than managing teams
Is motivated by delivery and throughput
Experience using Uniform / IDOX is essential.
