Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next contract opportunity within a major infrastructure environment?
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure contractor based from their project office in Assington, Suffolk.
You will be responsible for the commercial management of works, helping to control project costs, maximise value and ensure the required commercial and contractual standards are maintained. The position will involve working closely with the wider project team and managing commercial activities from procurement through to final account.
Job Role
- Managing and monitoring subcontractor commercial activities
- Preparing activity and resource schedules
- Reviewing contract programmes and supporting delay and disruption assessments
- Analysing commercial progress and reporting to senior project staff
- Preparing procurement programmes and supporting procurement strategy
- Managing rates, prices, variations and compensation events
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating claims where required
- Producing internal commercial reports and financial reconciliations
- Supporting the management and development of junior commercial staff
- Working closely with the wider project and delivery teams
Requirements
- Strong previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor
- Experience working on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing subcontractors, variations, compensation events and claims
- Experience with financial reporting and commercial reconciliation
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB, or working towards professional membership
- Strong communication, leadership and commercial awareness
This is an Inside IR35 position offering £61 per hour Umbrella, with the initial contract running until 4 April 2027.
