Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking for a role where you can genuinely influence project delivery and help win future work?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established national construction and fit-out contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of public sector projects across healthcare, education, government and heritage sectors. Due to continued growth and an upcoming vacancy within the team, they are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects while playing a key role in tender and bid activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both operational delivery and pre-construction involvement, with the chance to work on refurbishment, fit-out, decarbonisation and public sector framework projects.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you will take responsibility for managing multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring programmes, quality, health & safety and commercial objectives are achieved.

You will also support the bid and pre-construction teams by reviewing opportunities, developing methodologies and programmes, and contributing to successful tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing multiple construction projects across the North of England and Midlands
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget
• Driving high standards of quality and compliance
• Leading project planning and programme management
• Supporting bid submissions with programming and methodology development
• Reviewing tender documentation and identifying project risks
• Conducting site visits and assessing project delivery requirements
• Working closely with framework clients and public sector bodies
• Managing client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Supporting the selection of suitable contract strategies and delivery approaches
• Leading project teams and subcontractor performance

About You

We are keen to speak with experienced Contracts Managers who have a proven track record of delivering construction projects and contributing to successful tender bids.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction sector
• Strong understanding of refurbishment and fit-out projects
• Experience working on public sector projects or frameworks
• Successful involvement in bid-winning and tender submissions
• Strong programme management and project planning skills
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
• Good understanding of construction contracts and delivery methodologies
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications Required

• CSCS Black or White Card
• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• Scaffold Inspection or Scaffold Awareness Certification
• Fire Marshal Certification

Location & Travel

The role can be based from either Leeds (preferred) or Warrington, with travel across projects located predominantly along the M62 corridor, the North East and South Midlands.
