Estimator - Building Maintenance

Our client is a market-leading provider of compliance, maintenance, decarbonisation and energy services, delivering essential works to social housing and public sector clients across the UK. With a strong reputation for service excellence and long-term partnerships, they continue to experience significant growth and are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support their expanding work-winning function.

The location for the role in Hybrid, with office visits 1-2 times per week

The Role

Working closely with the Bid and Business Development teams, you'll be responsible for developing accurate and commercially robust cost models for planned maintenance, compliance, repairs, asset investment and energy-related projects.

You'll play a key role in supporting tender submissions, helping to shape pricing strategies and ensuring bids are both competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and pricing models for public sector and social housing tenders.
• Analyse tender documentation, specifications, pricing schedules and client requirements.
• Liaise with operational, commercial and procurement teams to gather information and validate assumptions.
• Develop labour, material, subcontractor and overhead cost models.
• Review opportunities and identify commercial risks and value engineering solutions.
• Support bid submissions with pricing narratives and commercial responses.
• Produce cashflow forecasts, cost breakdowns and pricing reports.
• Participate in tender reviews, adjudications and submission sign-off meetings.
• Maintain and develop estimating databases and pricing tools.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating accuracy and win rates.

• Proven estimating experience within a service-led or contracting environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Experience pricing public sector or framework opportunities.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
• The ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into accurate cost models.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive and detail-focused approach.
