We are currently working with a highly regarded and well-established main contractor specialising in commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment who are looking to appoint an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their team.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a key role in taking projects from early-stage opportunity and tender through to a successful handover to the delivery team.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, designers, estimators, commercial teams, project managers and specialist subcontractors to ensure projects are thoroughly developed, commercially viable and set up for successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the pre-construction process from initial tender through to project commencement.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and design information to identify risks, opportunities and buildability considerations.
• Working closely with estimating and commercial teams to develop competitive and robust tenders.
• Developing and managing pre-construction programmes.
• Coordinating design, technical information, procurement and subcontractor engagement.
• Managing relationships with clients, consultants, designers and the supply chain.
• Leading pre-construction and design meetings.
• Identifying project risks and opportunities at an early stage.
• Supporting value engineering and buildability exercises.
• Developing construction methodologies, logistics strategies and programmes.
• Ensuring a thorough and effective handover to the project delivery team.
• Contributing to the continued improvement of the company's pre-construction processes.

About You
We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in commercial fit-out and refurbishment.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a Pre-Construction Manager, Senior Estimator, Project Manager, Construction Manager or similar position.
• Strong knowledge of commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment.
• A good understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, procurement and buildability.
• Experience working with clients, consultants, designers and specialist subcontractors.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational and programme management abilities.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• The confidence to challenge, influence and provide practical advice.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
