Trainee Estimator / Estimator Bedford
A leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, and known for exceptional quality and service. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast-paced commercial environment.
You will be joining a team of six, consisting of two Business Development Managers and four Estimators. Hybrid working is available after a training period.

Projects typically range between £5,000 and £2,000,000.
The Role Trainee Estimator / Estimator
This is a full-time, office-based role with regular site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in:
Reviewing drawings and specifications
Quantity take-offs
Preparing estimates and costings
Pricing bills of quantities and producing lump-sum tenders
Supplier and subcontractor enquiries
Comparing quotations and supporting procurement
Assisting with tender submissions
Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting
Carrying out site surveys 1 2 times per week
Working on projects requiring security clearance
You will typically manage 7 8 live tenders at any one time, valued between £50,000 and £1.5m.

5 GCSEs including a C in Maths
Must be able to drive
Good attention to detail
Able to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Strong organisational and communication skills
Able to work independently and within a team
Experience in negotiation is beneficial
Comfortable working on security-cleared projects (training provided)
Working Hours
8.30am 5.00pm Hybrid working available after a training period.
