Multi-Trade Operative (Carpentry & Plumbing)
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Salary: Up to 34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a well-established national property services contractor delivering responsive and planned maintenance across Oldbury and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with strong carpentry and plumbing experience who enjoys working in residential properties and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair works across occupied and void properties, ensuring homes are safe, well maintained and completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out multi-trade repairs with a strong focus on carpentry and plumbing.
Complete 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, including doors, frames, skirting, architraves and general joinery repairs.
Undertake plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps, toilets, traps and minor pipework.
Diagnose faults and carry out effective, long-lasting repairs.
Deliver high-quality finishes across occupied and void properties.
Use mobile technology to record completed works, materials and job progress.
Work closely with supervisors and planners to ensure efficient service delivery.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with residents.
Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain company equipment safely.
About You
Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing, domestic maintenance or property services.
Strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills.
Good plumbing experience, including repairs and replacements.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Own tools relevant to carpentry and plumbing.
Good understanding of health and safety best practice.
