I am currently working with a well-established bespoke joinery contractor that has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-end joinery and interior fit-out packages across London and the Home Counties. Working with some of the UK's leading contractors, developers and private clients, the company delivers exceptional craftsmanship across luxury residential, commercial, hospitality and heritage projects.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, I am looking to speak with experienced Joinery Design Managers who are looking to join a highly respected specialist contractor based in Ware.
Reporting into the senior management team, you will be responsible for managing the design process from project award through to manufacture and installation, ensuring all designs are coordinated, practical and delivered to programme.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing multiple joinery design projects simultaneously.
  • Producing and reviewing detailed manufacturing and construction drawings.
  • Coordinating with architects, designers, clients and project teams.
  • Managing design programmes and ensuring information is issued on time.
  • Resolving technical design challenges and developing practical solutions.
  • Liaising closely with the workshop, production and installation teams.
  • Attending client and design team meetings.
  • Ensuring designs meet quality, budget and programme requirements.

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Design Manager, Senior Designer or Design Coordinator within the bespoke joinery sector.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Experience producing and reviewing detailed joinery drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and relevant joinery design software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
