Contract Real Estate Management Property

Job Description

We're looking for a proactive and confident PRS Letting Negotiator to join a Housing Needs service within a South London local authority. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference to residents facing homelessness by securing good-quality, affordable homes within the private rented sector.

You'll take the lead in identifying and securing suitable private rented accommodation for households experiencing or at risk of homelessness, as well as residents moving on from temporary and supported housing.

You'll build strong relationships with landlords and letting agents, proactively source new properties and negotiate rents and incentive payments to secure accommodation. You'll inspect properties to ensure they are safe and suitable, match available homes with prospective tenants, arrange and attend viewings, and support residents through the process of starting their new tenancy.

Working closely with Housing Advisors and other colleagues, you'll assess affordability and suitability, provide guidance on Universal Credit and Housing Benefit, and help residents understand their tenancy responsibilities.

We're looking for someone with strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills, with experience of housing, lettings, property management or the private rented sector. You'll be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
