Compliance Manager (M&E)

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of key mechanical and electrical compliance programmes across a large residential property portfolio.

The role will be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance across gas, electrical and wider mechanical systems, providing assurance that all legal and regulatory obligations are met whilst driving contractor performance and service delivery standards.

• Lead the delivery of mechanical and electrical compliance programmes across the property portfolio.
• Oversee gas servicing, gas safety compliance and associated remedial works.
• Manage day-to-day electrical compliance activities, including testing, inspections and remedial programmes.
• Ensure compliance across key mechanical systems and assets.
• Monitor compliance performance against statutory requirements, internal policies and service standards.
• Manage specialist contractors, consultants and service providers, ensuring contractual and performance requirements are achieved.
• Review compliance certification, inspection records and associated documentation.
• Identify compliance risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Produce compliance reports, performance data and assurance updates for senior management.
• Support internal and external audits, inspections and regulatory reviews.
• Work closely with Asset Management, Repairs, Building Safety and Procurement teams to ensure effective service delivery.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures and processes.

• Experience managing M&E compliance within social housing, local authority, property management or a similar regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of gas safety compliance and associated regulatory requirements.
• Experience overseeing electrical testing, inspection and remedial programmes.
• Understanding of mechanical compliance and building services systems.
• Experience managing contractors and compliance service providers.
• Ability to analyse compliance data and produce performance reports.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or other health and safety qualification.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.
