Site Manager - Water (Contract)
North East Long-Term Contract Competitive Day Rate


Site Manager required for major AMP8 water infrastructure programme. A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure framework across the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile, long-term programme of work delivering essential civil engineering projects within the UK water sector. You'll be responsible for leading site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.


The Role As Site Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day site activities across a range of civil engineering schemes.

Your responsibilities will include:
Managing site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
Supervising direct labour, subcontractors and suppliers
Maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance
Carrying out site inspections, audits and quality checks
Managing site resources, including labour, plant and materials
Producing daily and weekly progress reports
Overseeing temporary works installations and ensuring compliance
Building effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and third parties
Driving productivity whilst maintaining a strong safety culture on site

About You You'll be an experienced Site Manager with a proven background delivering heavy civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.

You'll ideally have:
Experience managing medium to large civil engineering schemes
Previous water, utilities or infrastructure experience
Strong understanding of NEC contracts
Knowledge of construction planning and programme delivery
Commercial awareness and effective resource management skills
Excellent leadership and communication abilities
Experience managing temporary works

Essential Qualifications
HNC (or above) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
SMSTS
CSCS or SHEA
Temporary Works Supervisor
First Aid
CDM Awareness
Confined Space (Medium Risk)
LOLER Appointed Person (desirable)
Chartered status (desirable)
Full UK Driving Licence
