Senior Quantity Surveyor Chesterfield

A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join a division within a chartered consultancy in Chesterfield that operates as a main contractor s commercial team. The division provides full Quantity Surveying services to major contractors across the UK.

The work focuses on government refurbishment and building fabric projects, including MOJ, MOD, government offices, defence estates and wider public sector buildings. Typical project values range from (phone number removed) to 5m, with some schemes reaching 20m. The division is part of a financially secure consultancy with long term client relationships.

The Chesterfield office has around 50 staff, including 40 Quantity Surveyors, creating a professional, contractor focused commercial environment with strong support and progression.

Working Hours

The Senior Quantity Surveyor can choose one of the following patterns

7.30 to 4.30
8.00 to 5.00
8.30 to 5.30
9.00 to 6.00

The Role

The role sits within the contractor side division delivering commercial support on government refurbishment and building fabric schemes across the region. The position is based in Chesterfield with regular site visits.

Working within a large and experienced commercial team, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee commercial duties on live projects and support contractor clients with cost management, valuations, variations, reporting, procurement and general commercial responsibilities. The role offers a varied workload, hybrid working and clear long term progression.

Security clearance may be required for some projects and will be arranged during onboarding.

An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor from a main contracting background who is confident working on refurbishment schemes. Suitable for someone with a construction related qualification and a solid understanding of commercial delivery on main contracting projects.
