Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex structural and enabling works across London. The business specialises in Cut & Carve, Structural Alterations, Demolition, RC Frame and Enabling Works, partnering with many of the capital's leading developers, contractors and property owners on technically challenging refurbishment and redevelopment schemes.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working on prestigious projects throughout Central London.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of Cut & Carve and Structural Alteration projects from award through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and submission of applications for payment
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
  • Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
  • Valuation and agreement of variations
  • Contract administration and commercial risk management
  • Cashflow management and project reporting
  • Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
  • Liaising closely with site teams, clients and consultants
  • Ensuring commercial performance is maintained throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven experience working on Cut & Carve, Structural Alterations, Refurbishment or Demolition projects
  • Strong understanding of commercial management within the construction sector
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple packages and stakeholders effectively
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering projects within Central London
  • Exposure to complex refurbishment, redevelopment or enabling works schemes
  • Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience working for a specialist subcontractor or main contractor
