Painter

Artisan Recruit are looking for a Painter on a perm basis for a company based in Chichester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of painting and decorating works to a high standard across commercial, retail, heritage, and domestic properties throughout the UK. Works may include planned maintenance, reactive repairs, refurbishment projects, specialist coating applications, and heritage restoration works.

Key Responsibilities

Internal and external painting and decorating works

Surface preparation including sanding, filling, stripping, and making good

Application of primers, undercoats, and finishing coats

Wallpaper hanging and decorative finishes where required

Timber repairs and preparation prior to decoration

Applying specialist coatings, stains, varnishes, and protective finishes

Working from specifications, drawings, and client instructions

Maintaining clean and safe working environments

Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales

Accurately recording works completed and reporting any defects identified

Operating company tools, equipment, and vehicles safely

Desired Qualifications & Experience

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Painting & Decorating

City & Guilds Painting & Decorating qualification

PASMA qualification

IPAF qualification

Full UK Driving Licence

Proven experience in painting and decorating

Experience working within commercial, retail, heritage, and domestic environments is advantageous

Good understanding of surface preparation techniques

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication and customer service skills

Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home when required
