Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fire Safety Surveyor to join our growing team. This role is responsible for conducting fire safety inspections and surveys across a range of residential, commercial, and public sector properties, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation, industry standards, and client requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying fire safety risks, providing practical recommendations, and supporting clients in maintaining safe and compliant buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire safety surveys and inspections of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
  • Undertake fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Identify fire safety deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assess passive fire protection measures, including fire doors, compartmentation, and fire stopping.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive survey reports.
  • Advise clients on compliance with fire safety regulations and best practices.
  • Liaise with property owners, contractors, housing providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support remediation projects by reviewing specifications and completed works.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using company systems.
  • Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and industry guidance.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience conducting fire safety surveys, inspections, or fire risk assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and relevant British Standards.
  • Ability to identify and assess fire safety risks within buildings.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Membership of a recognised fire safety professional body.
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
  • Experience inspecting fire doors and passive fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of social housing, healthcare, education, or commercial property sectors.
  • Relevant construction, surveying, or fire engineering background.
