Role incorporates the health and safety daily checks and the cleaning of low rise / high rise blocks - litter picking - removal of rubbish.

Candidate needs to be able to have reading writing skills ,as they will be required to record and report information . Time keeping is essential .

Description

  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs across designated properties.
  • Ensure communal areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
  • Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
  • Respond promptly to any urgent property-related issues reported.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repair or maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor and manage waste disposal and recycling processes effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and report any issues to management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Profile

A successful Estates Caretaker should have:

  • Previous experience in property maintenance or a similar role in the public sector.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving property-related issues.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to property management.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with management and contractors.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
