Customer Relations Officer
- Rate of pay: 17.47 PAYE per hour OR 22.52 Umbrella
- Location: Reading RG1
- Job Type: Temporary till the start of November 2026
- Working Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (Monday in-office, rest remote)
We are seeking a Customer Relations Officer to join a team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for managing freedom of information requests, inquiries, and other customer relations functions including complaint management and data protection. The ideal candidate will handle a high volume of casework and respond in a highly articulate manner, demonstrating advanced grammatical and language comprehension skills.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Act as the first point of contact for service users, parliament members, and MPs via calls, emails, and letters, providing timely and accurate information.
- Manage a caseload of complex customer inquiries, ensuring prompt and correct handling by applying a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and procedures.
- Undertake quality checks to ensure management responses are clear, complete, and meet defined standards.
- Liaise with various departments to collate and address responses to customer inquiries efficiently.
- Provide complainants with appropriate advice and support, keeping them informed about the progress of their inquiries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in customer relations within a regulated environment.
- Proficient in IT with good skills in Excel, CRM, and EDMS systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to manage complex information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with legislative and policy changes.
