Intermediate Estimator Commercial Fit-Out
Gidea Park, Essex (Greater London)
Full-time Permanent
£55,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
We are working on behalf of a well-established, privately owned principal contractor to appoint an Intermediate Estimator to join their growing commercial team.
This is a confidential opportunity with a respected, family-run business that has been delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across Greater London and the wider UK for several decades. With an annual turnover of approximately £10m, the company specialises in shop fitting, office fit-out, and hospitality projects, and also benefits from in-house bespoke joinery manufacturing capabilities.
The Role As an Intermediate Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, supporting the delivery of competitive and accurate tenders across a range of commercial fit-out projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
- Assisting with value engineering and cost planning
- Supporting senior estimators and commercial leads
- Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
About You We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented estimator who is looking to progress within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key requirements:
- 3 6 years experience in estimating within the fit-out or refurbishment sector
- Experience across commercial projects (office, retail, or hospitality preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in estimating software and Excel
