Are you a vigilant and reliable traffic marshal looking for a long-term role in York? We are seeking a professional banksman to join a large-scale commercial development for an immediate start.
As the first point of contact for all site deliveries and visitors, you will play a critical role in maintaining site safety and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
The Role:
- Managing the safe movement of plant, delivery vehicles, and pedestrians on and around the site.
- Acting as the primary point of contact at the site entrance for all deliveries.
- Ensuring all drivers adhere to site speed limits and safety protocols.
- Communicating effectively with plant operators (Telehandlers/Crane drivers) via radio or hand signals.
- Maintaining a clear and safe site entrance and ensuring no mud or debris is left on public highways.
- Assisting with site security by checking credentials and ensuring all visitors are signed in.
Requirements:
- Valid Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman certificate.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Previous experience on commercial or high-volume construction sites.
- Full PPE (High-vis trousers and vest, hard hat, steel toe boots).
- Strong communication skills and a firm but polite manner.
- Reliability and a sharp eye for detail.
