Pay Rate: 19.77 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our social housing maintenance team covering properties across Manchester. This role focuses on delivering high-quality internal and external painting, decorating, and finishing works in occupied and void domestic properties. You'll play an essential part in maintaining homes to a safe, comfortable, and modern standard for residents.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive painting and decorating tasks across social housing stock.
  • Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, patch repairs, and sealant work.
  • Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and protective coatings to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces.
  • Complete responsive maintenance tasks following tenant reports or scheduled refurbishment works.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Work efficiently in both occupied and void properties with sensitivity to residents' needs.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, following health and safety regulations.
  • Accurately record work completed using mobile devices or job sheets.
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, supervisors, and team members.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator-preferably within social housing or domestic settings.
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint systems, and application methods.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (company van supplied).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating or City & Guilds
  • Basic understanding of health and safety in residential environments.
