About the role: Working as part of a team of 5, this manual role will involve the day-to-day maintenance of the Victorian trunk sewer network in London. You will be responsible for performing a range of assigned activities including routine maintenance; investigations and safety cover. We are working with one of the UK’s largest food producers – based in London. Due to expansion they are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join their team. General accountabilities: You will be charged to organise the Engineering Night Shift Team – ensuring cover for production, site, projects and services operations The Engineering Team Leader will co-ordinate activity for the plant for PPM initiatives. Record keeping of all activity to meet requirements for statutory, safety and good manufacturing practice reasons. We are looking for someone who is involved with “hands-on” maintenance and running of equipment and site to provide support and cover for Shift and Services Technicians Work flexibly across the week to ensure the Night Shift team are best supported You will also provide cover for Night Shift Technicians as needed You will ensure maintenance work is documented and carried out to ensure the highest quality of produced product Support QA department to provide records of all activities carried out that could affect product quality Ensure all activities are in line with company and BRC requirements Specifics in the routine (NOT an exhaustive list of tasks): Safety: Promote a safety first culture for all maintenance activities Write PM worksheets and encourage others to do so with safety as the prime concern when carrying out a given task Ensure PM tasks are supported by Risk Assessment Record keeping and maintenance of safety equipment. Be aware of and comply with latest appropriate safety regulations e.g. PUWER, COSHH, Pressure Vessels, Legionella etc. P eople: Leadership of Engineering Night Shift team Work closely with Production and QA teams to ensure effective and co-ordinated management of shift teams Support production and engineering teams by carrying out hands-on activities as & when required Deputise for Engineering Manager when absent through reasons of holidays/sickness etc Assist with training of Technicians and Operators as required   Plant and Equipment: Pro-actively monitor machine condition and actively ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest possible standards Downtime monitoring and identification/implementation of improvement projects in liaison others. Improve spare stock holding and procurement linking into PM system   24 hr picture: Be aware of site performance throughout the day and support others to achieve daily targets for safety, quality and output Be flexible in role to work an “off-set” and variable working week to provide cover and support for the Night Shift Team as needed.
