Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Manchester Office (commutable by public transport or car) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (5-10 years) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Company Overview: Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing office fit-out contractor based in Manchester, specializing in fast-paced, high-quality office refurbishments and fit-outs across the North West and the UK. They are now looking for a motivated and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the growth and delivery of exciting projects. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team, based at the Manchester office, with occasional travel to local sites across the North West and other parts of the UK as required. The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Manager and the Estimating team to provide essential cost management and quantity surveying support on office fit-out projects. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the commercial aspects of fast-paced office fit-out projects. Work collaboratively with the Estimating team to assist in cost planning, budgeting, and tender preparation. Conduct site visits to assess progress, monitor costs, and ensure the efficient management of materials and labour. Prepare and issue accurate bills of quantities, tender documents, and schedules of work. Report to the Commercial Manager on project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings. Person Specification: Experience: 5-10 years in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably with experience in office fit-out or similar sectors. Skills: Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Office suite. Strong problem-solving abilities and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Working Environment: Office & Site-Based: Split between the office in Manchester and visits to sites across the North West and further afield as required. Flexible Working Hours: Flexible hours are available within reason to accommodate work-life balance, including school runs.
