Within this role you’ll be responsible for:
Monitoring income and expenditure across all disciplines of the department
Providing cost management, cost advice, life cycle costing analysis and contract advice in relation to the Repairs and Maintenance Delivery programme
Preparing specifications, schedule of rates, pricing matrices and bills of quantities for major work programmes
Using and assisting in developing the asset management software and maximising the benefits of the mobile working solutions available
Dealing with day to day maintenance and contract administration including processing work orders, liaising with contractors and creating and analysing data and reports
Acting as a coach and mentor in the development of staff and team competencies to promote change, innovation, continuous improvement and management of risk
To be successful in this role you will:
Have worked as a Quantity Surveyor within construction and will hold a Level 6 qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Have extensive knowledge of housing maintenance management with background working for both Client & Contractor organisations.
Have extensive knowledge of NHF schedule of rates and measured term contracts (JCT, NEC etc)
Have experience of contract management and of negotiating and influencing at all levels
Have an understanding of the needs within a social housing environment and the climate in which Registered Providers of housing work
Have experience of completing repairs and maintenance specifications and of working with schedule of rates, processing repair and void work orders accurately
