They are seeking experienced Highways Inspection Officers to join their team on an interim basis. Role Overview: Conduct planned and reactive safety inspections of the highway, ensuring compliance with the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legislation. Inspect carriageways, footways, car parks, bus stops, and other assets, issuing notices to private landowners where necessary. Investigate public enquiries and complaints related to highway maintenance, liaising with contractors, residents, councillors, and external agencies. Ensure defects are accurately recorded and take action on maintenance issues within set budgets ( 200k- 300k per year). Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works meet required standards and comply with health and safety regulations .
