Job Description

We're partnered with a rapidly growing infrastructure and utilities business delivering some of the UK's most significant energy projects. Following substantial growth and continued investment in their environmental function, they're looking to appoint a Senior Environment & Sustainability Advisor to play a key role on a nationally significant energy infrastructure project that will help shape the UK's future energy network.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that is growing both across the UK and internationally, offering exciting long-term career prospects, exposure to complex projects, and the chance to make a genuine impact from pre-construction through to delivery.

Working closely with project leadership, you'll support the delivery of a flagship multi-year infrastructure programme, helping embed environmental best practice, influence project decisions and ensure sustainability remains at the forefront throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting A Landmark Infrastructure Project - Play a key role in one of the UK's largest energy infrastructure programmes, helping guide environmental performance from pre-construction planning through to on-site delivery.
  • Leading Environmental Compliance On Site - Spend time working alongside operational teams, monitoring activities, providing guidance and ensuring environmental commitments are translated into everyday project delivery.
  • Shaping Environmental Management Plans - Work closely with senior environmental leaders during the pre-construction phase, helping develop, implement and manage environmental plans and controls across the project.
  • Building Trusted Stakeholder Relationships - Collaborate with project teams, contractor partners and major clients, influencing positive environmental outcomes and promoting best practice across all stages of delivery.
  • Driving Sustainability & Continuous Improvement - Support environmental reporting, carbon reduction initiatives and wider sustainability objectives, identifying opportunities to improve performance and create lasting environmental value.

Who They're Looking For:

  • Experienced Environmental Professional - You'll bring environmental experience from infrastructure, utilities, construction, renewables, waste or another regulated environment, ideally with around five years' experience or more.
  • Passionate About Being On Site - You're someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams, building relationships in the field and influencing environmental performance where it matters most.
  • Technically Knowledgeable - Confident interpreting environmental requirements, management plans and regulatory obligations, with the ability to apply them in a practical project environment.
  • Collaborative & Influential Communicator - Able to engage stakeholders at all levels, from site teams and contractors through to project leadership and client representatives.
  • Focused On Long-Term Development - Keen to join a business where there are genuine opportunities to progress, take ownership of future projects and grow alongside an expanding environmental team.
