A specialist timber frame manufacturer requires interim cover for a design manager within its in-house design function. The role has been created to provide leadership and continuity across live projects during a period of absence within the team. The successful candidate will oversee a small design team, act as a key customer contact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects progressing efficiently.

As a Design Manager you will:

• Manage and support a small in-house timber frame design team
  Act as the primary point of contact for customer design-related enquiries
  Coordinate activities between designers, external consultants and structural engineers
  Oversee design workflows and project scheduling to ensure programme requirements are met
  Support communication between internal departments and client teams
  Assist with design planning, resource allocation and programme management
  Review ongoing projects during the induction period and provide continuity across live work
  Maintain high standards of client service and project coordination

Must have:

• Proven experience within timber frame design environments
  Previous design management, team leadership or supervisory experience
  Strong understanding of the timber frame design process
  Experience liaising directly with customers and clients
  Ability to coordinate effectively with structural engineers and design consultants
  Strong project coordination and organisational skills
  Experience managing multiple live projects concurrently
