Your new role

Working closely with delivery and commercial teams, you will ensure robust cost control, subcontractor management, compensation event administration and accurate project reporting throughout the lifecycle of the works.

The position is site-based near Peterhead, with an expectation of attending site five days per week initially, moving to a more flexible arrangement once established within the project team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administering NEC Option A contracts
  • Preparing and assessing compensation events
  • Subcontractor procurement and management
  • Valuations, applications and payment certification
  • Change control and forecasting
  • Cost reporting and cash flow management
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and risk management
  • Ensuring contractual compliance across onshore, ducting, cabling and HDD work packages

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrable Quantity Surveying experience on major civil engineering, utilities, energy or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC contracts, particularly NEC Option A
  • Experience managing subcontractors and complex work packages
  • Proven background in cost management, forecasting and change control
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational delivery teams
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to be site-based near Peterhead

Previous experience on power transmission, HVDC, renewables, major utilities, cable installation or large-scale civil engineering projects would be highly advantageous.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive Rate Outside IR35
  • Long-term contract opportunity
  • Project duration anticipated through to October 2029
  • Opportunity to work on one of Scotland's significant energy infrastructure projects
  • Stable workload with a well-established project team
