Are you an experienced Procurement Manager?

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join a well-established and growing construction business. This is a strategic and commercially focused role responsible for managing procurement activities across multiple construction projects, ensuring the timely sourcing of materials, plant, subcontractors, and services whilst delivering best value, quality, and compliance.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, suppliers, and senior management to support project delivery through effective procurement strategies, supplier relationship management, and cost control.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager role within Construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontract procurement, and supply chain management
  • Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems

Desirable:

  • MCIPS qualification (or working towards)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with NEC and JCT contracts
  • Knowledge of sustainability and ethical procurement practices

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives and project requirements.
  • Source, negotiate, and secure competitive agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Manage tendering and quotation processes for materials, plant, and subcontract packages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Project Managers to forecast procurement requirements.
  • Ensure materials and services are procured in line with project programmes and budgets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across the supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and purchasing documentation.
  • Manage supply chain risks and develop contingency plans where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and contractual requirements.
  • Support the commercial team with budget management and cost reporting.
  • Stay informed of market trends, material shortages, and pricing fluctuations within the construction sector.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the company.

Requirements

As Procurement Manager, you will also be expected to:

  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and decision-making skills.
  • Work effectively under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Communicate professionally with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deliver procurement solutions that support project success and company profitability.
  • Produce accurate and timely procurement reports for senior management.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding supplier agreements and commercial information.
