Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of an ambitious Quantity Surveyor.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive business that invests in its people, provides ongoing mentoring and offers a clear pathway towards Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Management positions.

The Role
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you'll take increasing responsibility for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and package management
  • Managing variations and change control processes
  • Supporting final account negotiations and agreement
  • Liaising with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Producing accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors

About You
We're looking for motivated and career-driven individuals who are keen to further develop their commercial construction expertise.
You will ideally have:

  • 4-5 years' experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress into a QS role, or 1-2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience working within the construction industry
  • Exposure to commercial, refurbishment, fit-out or industrial projects
  • Working knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Strong numerical, commercial and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of projects
  • Ambition to progress into Senior QS and Commercial Management roles

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to NEC contracts
  • Experience working on public sector projects
  • Knowledge of NHS, MoD or MoJ frameworks and environments
  • Full support and guidance will be provided for candidates continuing to develop their contractual and sector knowledge.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary package tailored to your experience
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Pension scheme
  • Laptop and mobile phone
  • Ongoing training, CPD and professional development support
  • Flexible working arrangements for the right candidate
  • Health screening and wellbeing initiatives
  • Long-term career security with a growing contractor
  • Clear progression pathway towards Senior Quantity Surveyor and beyond

This opportunity would suit an ambitious Assistant QS ready for the next step, or a recently promoted Quantity Surveyor looking to join a company where progression is genuinely achievable and recognised.
