We are working with an established and successful main contractor to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team on a permanent, office-based basis.

The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will play a key role within the commercial function, taking responsibility for the commercial management and performance of projects while working closely with the wider operational and senior management teams.
This is an office-based position, making it particularly suited to someone who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues, being involved in commercial decision-making and having a central role within the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking commercial responsibility for allocated projects.
Making key commercial decisions and providing commercial direction.
Managing and supporting the commercial team.
Managing project budgets, costs, forecasts and cash flow.
Reviewing and negotiating contracts and subcontract agreements.
Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial negotiations.
Overseeing valuations, applications, payments, variations and final accounts.
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
Providing accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
Working closely with the operational team to maximise project performance.
Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Supporting the wider business with commercial strategy and decision-making.
Helping to develop and improve commercial processes and best practice.
About You
We are looking for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background working for a main contractor.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar.
Strong main contracting experience within the construction industry.
A thorough understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
Experience managing commercial activities across multiple projects.
Strong negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Strong financial and analytical skills.
A proactive, commercially minded approach.
The confidence to take ownership and make decisions.
A desire to build a long-term career within a successful construction business.
