Health and Safety Lead

The OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Health & Safety Officer to join a growing engineering and construction business delivering mechanical and electrical projects across the UK.

This role will support projects ranging from small-scale installations through to major schemes valued at over 20m. Significant UK travel is required, spending time on active project sites, supporting operational teams and ensuring high standards of Health & Safety compliance.Reporting to the Contracts Director, with support from the Group Health & Safety Director, you will play a key role in maintaining a positive safety culture as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across UK project sites.
• Support Project Managers, Engineers and Site Teams with practical Health & Safety advice.
• Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
• Support contractor management and CDM compliance activities.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Produce reports and track corrective actions through to completion.

About You

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Officer or Coordinator position.
• Experience supporting M&E installation, engineering or construction projects.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Strong communicator with a practical, site-focused approach.
• Comfortable travelling extensively across the UK and working autonomously.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
