Interim Building Surveyor / Contracts Surveyor
350- 400 per day Hybrid Working 3 Days On-Site
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to oversee the delivery of a significant cyclical maintenance programme within a large property portfolio.
This is a contractor-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys managing projects, holding contractors accountable, and ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a planned and cyclical maintenance programme, ensuring contractors deliver against agreed specifications, budgets, and performance standards.
Working closely with senior management, you will take ownership of contract delivery, monitor quality, undertake inspections, and ensure compliance requirements are fully met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the performance of maintenance contractors
- Attending and chairing contractor and site meetings
- Carrying out post-inspections and quality assurance checks
- Monitoring programme delivery, expenditure and progress
- Reviewing compliance documentation and certification
- Ensuring works are completed in line with contractual obligations
- Investigating and resolving delivery issues
- Producing reports and providing updates to senior stakeholders
About You
We are looking for an experienced surveyor with a strong background in contractor management and planned maintenance.
You will ideally have:
- Experience within housing, local authority, property services or planned maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of cyclical maintenance and planned works programmes
- Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance
- Excellent inspection and quality assurance skills
- Good understanding of compliance and health & safety requirements
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
