Architectural Technologist

Our client, a well-established, award-winning architectural practice with a growing network of offices across the UK, are currently seeking a talented Architectural Technologist to join their new Central Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an exciting period of growth, joining a collaborative team and working on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors. Our client currently have 4 people in the new office and have plans to grow this further as part of their business strategy.

This role would suit an Architectural Technologist with 5+ years' experience within architectural practice who has strong technical knowledge and is looking to take an active role in project delivery. The successful Architectural Technologist will work as part of a project team delivering schemes from inception through to completion, producing detailed design information and technical packages using Revit.

The practice works across a diverse range of sectors, offering exposure to a varied portfolio of projects and the opportunity to work within a national architectural practice. The majority of projects are delivered in Revit, so strong BIM and Revit experience is essential, alongside good knowledge of Building Regulations, technical detailing and NBS.

Architectural Technologist Overview

• Work as part of a project team to deliver schemes from inception through to completion
• Take responsibility for producing and coordinating detailed design information
• Produce high-quality technical drawing packages and construction information using Revit
• Assist with project delivery, coordination and project management
• Where required, take on project lead responsibility and manage the day-to-day delivery of projects
• Produce design-stage risk assessments and documentation for statutory approvals
• Liaise with Building Control, local authorities and other statutory approval bodies
• Assist with administering contracts and project certification
• Carry out stage and snagging inspections
• Work collaboratively with architects, technologists, consultants and wider project teams
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Birmingham office and wider practice

Architectural Technologist Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience working within an architectural practice
• BSc (Hons), HNC or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology
• CIAT membership or equivalent professional body would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge and experience of Revit and BIM
• Good understanding of technical detailing and Building Regulations
• Knowledge of NBS advantageous
• Experience producing and coordinating detailed design information
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Excellent attention to detail, with a good understanding of design
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
