The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on behalf of a well-established client-side project management and construction consultancy delivering major development, refurbishment and regeneration projects across the education, public and residential sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy where you will work directly with clients and take genuine ownership of projects from the earliest stages through to completion. Projects range from smaller refurbishment schemes valued below £250,000 through to major developments in excess of £100m.
The successful candidate will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from developing initial briefs, business cases and design proposals through to procurement, construction, fit-out and handover. You will work closely with clients, consultants, design teams and contractors, providing strategic advice while ensuring projects are delivered successfully in terms of programme, quality, risk and overall client objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Managing projects from initial briefing and concept through to construction, completion and handover.
- Working closely with clients to understand their objectives and develop clear project briefs.
- Supporting the development of business cases, funding bids and estates strategies.
- Working with architects, consultants and design teams to develop outline, concept and detailed designs.
- Managing the appointment and coordination of consultants and specialist teams.
- Developing project programmes, risk registers and project execution plans.
- Managing market testing, tendering processes and tender evaluations.
- Establishing effective project management, reporting and change control systems.
- Leading client, design and project meetings and managing actions through to completion.
- Monitoring project cost, programme, quality, risk and performance throughout delivery.
- Undertaking site inspections, snagging and pre-occupation reviews.
- Working closely with contractors and consultants throughout the construction phase.
- Supporting fit-out, completion, occupation and post-project reviews.
- Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working as a Project Manager within construction, property, consultancy or a related environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects through design, procurement and construction.
- Experience working in a client-side, consultancy or professional services environment would be advantageous.
- A strong understanding of the full project lifecycle and project management processes.
- Experience managing design teams, consultants, contractors and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of programme, risk, change and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to challenge, advise and influence clients and project teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Degree level education or relevant professional qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- A genuine desire to take responsibility, deliver results and make a positive difference through the projects you manage.
