The business works with investors, asset managers, developers and property owners to improve the financial, environmental and operational performance of real estate assets, providing strategic advice, cost management, technical expertise and project delivery services across a range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with approximately 3 years experience, ideally within a consultancy environment, to join a progressive and expanding team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals on projects across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, gaining exposure to all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work, from feasibility and design through to construction and operation. The role will involve delivering quantity surveying and cost management services, supporting clients with cost planning, procurement, commercial management and financial reporting, while developing an understanding of how sustainability and capital investment contribute to long-term property performance. Please note: Applicants must be within commuting distance of London and able to attend the Canary Wharf office two days per week. Travel to the London office will be paid. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: • Preparing and contributing to cost plans, estimates and cost reports across various project stages. • Reviewing drawings, specifications and design information to identify cost implications. • Maintaining project budgets, forecasts, cashflows and expenditure records. • Monitoring commercial performance and identifying financial risks and opportunities. • Supporting value engineering exercises and advising on cost-effective design solutions. • Assisting with procurement strategies, tender documentation and tender analysis. • Reviewing contractor applications for payment, interim valuations, variations and change orders. • Supporting the commercial management of projects throughout the construction phase. • Assisting with final accounts, contractor claims and commercial recommendations. • Attending site visits, progress meetings and client meetings as required. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders. • Supporting clients with the financial assessment of sustainability initiatives and whole-life costs. • Working collaboratively with senior colleagues and wider technical teams to deliver high-quality cost management services. • Taking ownership of agreed project responsibilities, deliverables and deadlines. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Approximately 3 years experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management. • Consultancy experience would be advantageous. • Experience working on construction or property projects. • Understanding of cost planning, estimating, tendering and procurement processes. • Experience assisting with valuations, variations and final accounts. • Knowledge of construction costs, building elements and construction methodologies. • Understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes. • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and standard commercial or project management software. • Experience working with budgets, forecasts and cashflows. • A relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline. • RICS membership or a desire to work towards MRICS would be advantageous. • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills. • A commercially minded, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design / Technical Manager to take ownership of the design and technical process across pre-construction and delivery, working closely with senior leadership, operational and commercial teams to drive projects forward. The successful candidate will act as a key technical lead, managing design development, coordination, compliance and information flow while ensuring projects remain buildable, commercially viable and aligned with programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Leading the design and technical process from pre-construction through to completion. Managing design deliverables, information release schedules and key programme milestones. Reviewing drawings, specifications and design proposals for compliance, buildability, sequencing and temporary works considerations. Developing and maintaining design programmes, ensuring surveys, approvals, technical submissions, samples and construction information are delivered on time. Leading design team meetings and driving actions through to completion. Working closely with operational teams to support construction programmes, cost plans, quality plans and procurement strategies. Managing design coordination and ensuring effective communication between clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams. Supporting compliance with Building Regulations and the requirements applicable to higher-risk buildings. Managing Gateway 2 submissions and maintaining the golden thread of information through to Gateway 3 where applicable. Working with commercial teams to develop consultant and supply chain scopes, design responsibilities, liabilities and associated agreements. Ensuring design information is properly managed, reviewed and approved through relevant document management systems. Identifying potential client delays and proactively managing their impact on programme and delivery. Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, design teams and internal stakeholders. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to drive progress and deliver project objectives. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working as a Design Manager, Technical Manager, Design / Technical Manager or similar within a main contracting environment. Strong experience managing the design process through pre-construction and into delivery. A strong understanding of construction design, technical coordination, buildability and compliance. Experience working with architects, consultants, specialist contractors and supply chain partners. Good knowledge of Building Regulations and current construction compliance requirements. Experience with higher-risk buildings and Gateway processes would be highly advantageous. Strong understanding of design programmes, information release schedules and design responsibility. Experience working closely with commercial and operational teams. Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues, challenge where necessary and drive solutions. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and get the best from design teams. A commercially aware and delivery-focused mindset. The business has a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, education and healthcare sectors, with a mixture of refurbishment and new-build projects. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established team and play a key role in the successful commercial delivery of future projects. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider commercial and construction teams. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports. Reviewing contract documents, drawings and specifications. Managing subcontractor procurement and tender processes.
