Quantity Surveyor - Fit out Contractor London

Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a well-respected Fit out Contractor based in Central London working on a variety of Fit out related framework projects. This is an exciting new role due to additional workload with new projects secured and started on site, with flexibility working between office and the project site itself.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor

Fawkes and Reece are working with a well-respected Fit out Contractor that have a network of offices both regionally and in Central London. You would be working with a leading London-based fit-out and refurbishment contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The business delivers high-quality Cat A and Cat B office fit-outs, refurbishment and workplace projects for a range of high-profile clients across London. Projects range from fast-track commercial fit-outs on Hotels, Offices, Banks and many more commercial spaces, helping give you exposure to working with household name UK brands and businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects and develop their career within a highly regarded fit-out contractor.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement and pre-construction through to completion and final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial performance of fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  
• Reviewing project scope, drawings, specifications and trade packages.
  
• Procuring and managing subcontractor and supplier packages.
  
• Preparing and analysing tender enquiries and quotations.
  
• Negotiating subcontract orders and commercial terms.
  
• Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments and final accounts.
  
• Undertaking monthly valuations and applications for payment.
  
• Preparing and maintaining CVRs, cost reports and project forecasts.
  
• Monitoring project costs, commitments, cash flow and profitability.
  
• Identifying and managing variations, change and commercial risks.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within fit-out, refurbishment or commercial construction.
  
• Strong experience managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account.
  
• A good understanding of commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  
• Experience with valuations, variations, CVRs, forecasting and cost control.
  
• Strong negotiation and subcontractor management skills.
  
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  
• The confidence to work closely with project teams, clients and senior management.
  
• A proactive approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  
• A relevant Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management qualification is desirable.
