Crane Supervisor - Marine Project

Location: Newhaven, East Sussex

Contract: 6 months

Rate: 25.00 per hour

Crane: 130-ton crane

Start: Immediate / ASAP

We are currently looking for an experienced Crane Supervisor to join a marine construction project in Newhaven.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing lifting operations involving a 130-ton crane, ensuring all lifting activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with the relevant lifting plans, procedures and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise crane and lifting operations on a busy marine construction project.

Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with approved lift plans.

Coordinate crane operators, banksmen/signallers and other lifting personnel.

Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are suitable and properly inspected.

Liaise with site management, lifting teams and other contractors.

Monitor exclusion zones and maintain safe working practices.

Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety requirements.

Report any issues or unsafe practices to site management.

Maintain accurate lifting and site documentation.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Crane Supervisor on construction, marine or heavy lifting projects.

Experience supervising large crane operations, ideally 100-ton+ capacity.

Relevant Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person or lifting supervision qualifications as required for the role.

Strong understanding of lifting operations, lift plans and site safety.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team.

Relevant CSCS/CPCS/NPORS or equivalent certification where applicable.
