An experienced Account Manager (Hard FM) is required to lead engineering and maintenance services across a highly regulated site in Oxford. The environment includes manufacturing, clean rooms, laboratories, offices and critical plant areas.
You'll take ownership of a c.£2.5m Hard FM operation, leading the on-site engineering team while managing client relationships, compliance, commercial performance and service delivery. A strong engineering background is highly valued, while pharmaceutical experience is desirable rather than essential.
The Role As the Account Manager, you'll:
- Lead Hard FM delivery across manufacturing, laboratory, clean room and plant environments.
- Manage PPM and reactive maintenance, ensuring accurate real-time CAFM records.
- Build strong client relationships as the primary on-site operational contact.
- Drive contractual performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and compliance requirements.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, WIP, debt, invoicing and overall financial performance.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering and facilities management team.
- Oversee statutory compliance, permits, risk management and specialist subcontractor performance.
- Drive continuous improvement while protecting asset reliability and operational availability.
About You To be successful as the Account Manager, you'll have:
- Significant Hard FM management experience within technically complex environments.
- A recognised Hard FM technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience progressing from an engineering or technical background into management.
- Strong commercial knowledge covering budgets, forecasting, WIP and contract performance.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing senior client relationships.
- Experience with CMMS or CAFM systems, with Maximo particularly advantageous.
- Pharmaceutical, GxP or GMP knowledge is desirable but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence and ability to pass Standard DBS vetting.
Experience within pharmaceutical, process-controlled or similarly regulated environments would be particularly relevant. You'll also need to participate in an out-of-hours management on-call rota.
