About the Role
We are seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager with an Electrical Bias to join our client's growing team and lead the successful delivery of building services and infrastructure projects across London and the South-East.
The ideal candidate will have a strong M&E background, specialising in electrical building services, healthcare projects, and HV/LV infrastructure upgrades. You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is particularly suited to a Project Manager with experience delivering critical infrastructure projects within live healthcare environments, where operational continuity and stakeholder management are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of M&E projects with a focus on electrical services and HV/LV infrastructure upgrades.
- Lead projects from planning and procurement through installation, commissioning, handover, and final account.
- Deliver works within live healthcare environments while minimising disruption to critical operations.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules, and cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, client requirements, and company procedures.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Manage project risks, electrical shutdowns, switchovers, and commissioning activities.
- Attend client, design, and progress meetings, providing regular project updates.
- Build strong client relationships and support the commercial team with variations and contractual matters.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as an M&E Project Manager within the building services sector.
- Strong electrical background with experience delivering HV and LV infrastructure upgrades.
- Healthcare project experience, ideally within live hospital or NHS environments.
- Sound knowledge of electrical building services, power distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure.
- Experience managing projects valued from £1m to £20m+.
- Strong project planning, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and project costs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Manager Card.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience working for Tier 1 contractors, NHS Trusts, or leading M&E contractors.
- Knowledge of HTM standards and healthcare compliance requirements.
