Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Shuttering Carpenter to undertake the construction and installation of bespoke timber shuttering around structural steel members to facilitate the formation of high-quality, square-edge concrete finishes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately measuring, setting out, cutting, assembling, erecting and striking timber formwork in accordance with site drawings, specifications and programme requirements.



Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and set out timber shuttering in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Cut, assemble and install bespoke timber formwork around structural steel members.
  • Ensure shuttering is accurately aligned, level, securely fixed and adequately supported.
  • Maintain specified dimensions and tolerances throughout concrete placement.
  • Deliver high-quality, square-edge concrete finishes through accurate formwork installation.
  • Inspect and adjust formwork as required prior to and during concrete pours.
  • Safely strike and remove shuttering once the concrete has achieved the required condition.
  • Work efficiently and safely while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
  • Liaise and coordinate with site management, engineers and other trades to ensure works are completed in line with the programme.
  • Follow all relevant site procedures, risk assessments, method statements and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in timber shuttering/formwork carpentry.
  • Ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of setting out, dimensions, levels and tolerances.
  • Experience working around structural steel and bespoke formwork.
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality concrete finishes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or site certifications are desirable.


Working Hours:
07:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday (Weekends will be considered)
10 hours paid
