Contract: Interim till recruited permanently

Hours: Full-time

Pay: 28-10 per hour Umbrella

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer to join a local authority Housing Solutions team in Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to join a busy service and play a key role in preventing homelessness and supporting households to secure suitable and sustainable accommodation.

The Role

As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will manage a caseload of customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, providing expert housing advice and ensuring cases are dealt with in line with statutory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing homelessness applications and housing needs.
  
• Providing comprehensive housing advice and assistance.
  
• Undertaking homelessness prevention and relief activity.
  
• Making appropriate statutory decisions under relevant housing legislation.
  
• Identifying suitable accommodation and sustainable housing solutions.
  
• Working closely with private landlords, housing associations and other accommodation providers.
  
• Supporting vulnerable households and customers with complex needs.
  
• Maintaining accurate case records and preparing statutory correspondence and decisions.
  
• Managing a caseload effectively and working to relevant statutory and service deadlines.
  
• Liaising with internal teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
  
• Ensuring all decisions and actions comply with the Part 7, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and associated guidance.
  
  

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a homelessness, housing options or housing solutions environment.

You will need:

• 
  
• Previous experience working within a Housing Options/Homelessness service.
  
• Good knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory duties.
  
• Experience assessing homelessness applications and making decisions.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  
• The ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
  
• Experience working with vulnerable customers and complex cases.
  
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  
• A professional, customer-focused approach.
  
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
