Plumber

Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber to join a facilities maintenance team at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham on a temporary to permanent basis.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plumber looking for long-term, stable employment within a secure and professional environment. Following a successful temporary period, there is the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a leading facilities management organisation.

The Role

As a Plumber, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the prison estate, ensuring all plumbing systems are maintained to a high standard and remain fully operational.

Key duties will include:

• Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance works
• Diagnosing and rectifying faults on water systems and sanitary ware
• Installation and replacement of plumbing fixtures and fittings
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests
• Completing planned preventative maintenance tasks
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant regulations
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed

What You'll Need

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities environment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence is desirable
