The Opportunity

My client is a highly regarded national property consultancy with an established reputation across the rural and agricultural property market.

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Rural Surveyor to join its Salisbury team at Senior Surveyor or Associate Director level.

The role will combine Estate Management with professional rural consultancy, advising a varied portfolio of landowners, estates and agricultural clients. The successful individual will take responsibility for key client relationships while working alongside specialists across a wider multidisciplinary property business.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as lead agent for a portfolio of estate management clients.

  • Developing trusted relationships with landowners, estate owners and rural clients.

  • Providing strategic and day-to-day advice across rural property and landed estates.

  • Supporting senior colleagues on wider estate management and consultancy instructions.

  • Working collaboratively with specialists across other rural and property disciplines.

  • Undertaking secured lending and other professional valuations where appropriately qualified.

  • Preparing professional reports, recommendations and client correspondence.

  • Supporting and mentoring graduates and junior team members.

  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new instructions.

  • Building a strong professional network across Salisbury and the wider region.

  • Supporting business development, marketing initiatives and industry events.

About You

My client is seeking a commercially minded and personable rural property professional with strong technical capability and the ambition to continue progressing.

You are likely to demonstrate:

  • Experience within rural surveying, estate management or rural consultancy.

  • Experience advising rural estates, farms, landowners or agricultural clients.

  • The confidence to act as a key point of contact for clients.

  • Strong technical knowledge across a range of rural property matters.

  • The ability to provide practical and commercially considered advice.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.

  • An interest in business development and building a regional professional network.

  • Leadership potential and the ambition to progress professionally.

MRICS qualification would be highly desirable, although experienced rural practitioners working towards qualification may also be considered.

The Salisbury office provides a broad range of rural services including Estate Management, Consultancy, Valuation, Farming and Environmental advice.

The successful candidate will join an experienced multidisciplinary team advising a high-quality client base, including prominent landowners and rural estates across the region.
