Job Description

A leading independent construction and property consultancy is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their established Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who wants to work on high-quality projects across the North West while developing within a well-respected consultancy environment.

The successful Project Manager will take responsibility for projects from early feasibility through design, procurement, construction and completion. As a Project Manager, you will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors, helping to drive programmes forward and ensure successful project delivery. The consultancy is looking for a confident Project Manager who can manage their own workload, build strong client relationships and contribute positively to the wider Manchester team.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.



The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will manage a varied portfolio of projects across Manchester and the wider North West, working with both existing and new clients.

Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, chairing meetings, managing project risks, supporting procurement and monitoring contractor performance throughout construction.

The Project Manager will also act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear reporting and advice while ensuring projects remain focused on agreed time, cost and quality objectives.



The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will ideally have:

  • Previous Project Management experience within a construction consultancy
  • Experience delivering projects through multiple stages of the construction lifecycle
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and wider project teams
  • A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or progress towards a relevant professional qualification would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of procurement, programme management and project risk
  • Strong communication, organisation and report-writing skills
  • The confidence to take ownership of projects with limited supervision
