Key Requirement:D&B Project Management + Hospital/Healthcare Experience
A nationally recognised construction business is seeking an experienced Site-Based Project Manager to deliver a £6.5m Design & Build (D&B) hospital project in Portsmouth.
Design & Build experience and previous hospital/healthcare project experience are essential. The successful Project Manager will have strong experience working in live healthcare environments, managing designers, subcontractors, consultants and specialist supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project delivery from initial site mobilisation/shovel in the ground through to handover.
- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the £6.5m D&B hospital project, including 4 laboratories.
- Manage and coordinate architects, designers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
- Develop, monitor and maintain the construction programme.
- Ensure the programme remains on track and key milestones are achieved.
- Manage the healthcare supply chain and subcontractor performance.
- Act as a key client-facing representative throughout the project.
- Maintain strong contractual awareness and ensure project obligations are met.
- Identify, manage and resolve risks, delays and technical issues.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, programme and required quality standards.
- Lead regular progress meetings and provide clear project reporting.
- Coordinate site teams and maintain effective communication across all project stakeholders.
About the Project Manager
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven Project Manager experience delivering hospital or healthcare construction projects.
- Strong Design & Build (D&B) project experience.
- Experience working within live hospital environments.
- A strong understanding of healthcare construction and specialist supply chains.
- Excellent programme and project management skills.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
- Good contractual and commercial awareness.
- The ability to identify problems early and ensure the programme does not fail.
