Senior Site Manager - New-Build Care Home
Location: Slough
Project: 10 million new-build care home
Salary: 68,000 to 75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
We're working with an established main contractor that specialises in building care homes for repeat clients across the region. Due to a newly secured project, they are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to take the lead on a new 10 million care home on the outskirts of Slough.
The project will provide around 70 bedrooms across two storeys and will be delivered under a traditional contract. Demolition and groundworks are starting shortly, with an overall build programme of approximately 12 months.
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the project from the early stages through to completion and handover. You will be supported on site by an Assistant Site Manager and Foreman, with a Contracts Manager visiting regularly.
Your Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the project from demolition and groundworks through to final handover.
- Managing the site team, subcontractors and day-to-day construction activities.
- Planning and coordinating works to keep the project on programme.
- Producing short-term programmes and monitoring progress against key dates.
- Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor and design team.
- Chairing subcontractor meetings and regular site progress meetings.
- Reviewing drawings and resolving technical, design and buildability issues.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site.
- Managing quality checks, inspections, snagging and close-out.
- Keeping accurate site records and providing clear progress reports.
- Building a strong working relationship with the client and professional team.
- Managing commissioning and ensuring a smooth final handover.
What We're Looking For
You will be an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong main contracting background and a proven record of delivering new-build projects. Experience within care homes would be ideal, although candidates from other multi-room projects will also be considered, including:
- Build to Rent.
- Student accommodation.
- Hotels.
- Residential developments.
You will also need:
- Experience taking a new-build project from groundworks through to completion.
- A good understanding of traditional construction contracts.
- The ability to lead an on-site team and manage multiple subcontractor packages.
- Strong programming, planning and organisational skills.
- Good technical knowledge and a clear focus on quality.
- The ability to identify problems early and deal with them quickly.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- A full UK driving licence.
