Job Description


Our client, a prominent player in the rail industry, is seeking a Senior Site Manager with a strong background in rail and heavy civils to join their team based in Cornwall. This is a contract position that has been deemed inside IR35 with a 12 month duration.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing site operations and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Managing and coordinating a team of site engineers, supervisors, and operatives
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and regulations
  • Implementing and monitoring project plans according to NEC Option A contracts
  • Managing temporary works with Temporary Works experience
  • Working closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Monitoring project progress and preparing detailed reports for senior management
  • Addressing any technical issues that arise during construction


Job Requirements:

  • Strong experience in rail and heavy civils projects
  • Proficiency in managing NEC Option A contracts
  • NVQ Level 6 qualification
  • Rail industry certifications, including PTS and CSCS
  • Experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
  • Excellent technical understanding and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to commute to Cornwall, or be based locally
  • Capability to work within the IR35 framework
